At Wilton's General Store is the first play in a series of fictional plays loosely based on historical family events, written by Meldy Wilton, Granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Wilton, set in and around, historical Wilton's General Store on Haliburton Street in Nanaimo BC Canada. The play covers a variety of exciting happenings around town and the world in the 1940's. A time before cell phones, and computers, before TV and CD players; a time when the world was going to war and North America was trying to recover from the big stock market crash and depression. A time when everyone clung to the hope that life would be better and our young people were the key to recovering our hearts, souls and finances.
