Thordis Loa is experienced business women & entrepreneur. Her background and experience in work varies from being the vice president for Service Division at the Welfare Service in Reykjavik for 8 years, a part time university professor for 6 years to being an entrepreneur, investor and a franchise owner of a restaurant chain in Iceland & Finland.
Thordis Loa is a sociologist with graduated studies in media and social work and a MBA degree in Global Management.
Thordis Loa is an international minded person having lived in Ecuador (S-America), New Orleans (USA) and in Iceland running her international investments and business from there.
Thordis Loa has been on the “list of 100 most powerful business woman in Iceland” for last three years.
Thordis Lóa has been recognized as one of 100 extraordinary women from around the world who have contributed to the economic empowerment of women. She will receive the TIAW world of difference awards in Washington DC on October 2011.

• Currently: Chairperson on Board of Directors in Naskar ehf, (Women
Investment group).
• Currently: Chairperson on Board of Directors in Aldadin Invest ehf, (Women
Investment group).
• Currently: Chairperson on Board of Directors in Naskur ehf, Investment Company owner
of Askur Oy. (Pizza Hut Finland).
• Currently: On the of Board of Directors Fresko ehf (Pizza Hut Iceland)
• 2008-2010: In Board of Directors in FKA (Association of Icelandic Women
Entrepreneurs).
• 2006-2008: A member of the International Committee of Association of Icelandic Women Entrepreneurs (FKA).
• 2002-2005: Chairperson for a project of Integration of Social & Health Service in Reykjavík for the Mayor of Reykjavík & Minister of Health & Insurance
• 1998- 2005: A member of a Nord RAI committee for the Ministry of Health
and Insurance, where she worked closely with health professionals from all the Nordic Countries.
• 1998-2005 : A member of The Icelandic Assessment Counsel for Nursing
Homes (Vistunarmatsnefnd HTR).
